We have four accommodations on the mountain top at Guesthouse in the Clouds. All have private baths, queen-size beds, hair dryers, and clothes irons. All of the beds are made, the sheets are ironed and there are towels and washcloths in the bathrooms. There is heat and A/C.

The Annex & Annex Suite

The Annex and the Annex Suite are two parts of one house. The Annex has the kitchen, one bedroom and bath plus a very large living toom and dining room. The Annex Suite has a large bedroom and bath, plus a sitting room with provisions to make coffee with a small refrigerator and microwave, but no kitchen.

If these two lodgings are occupied by different parties, they are closed off from one another. If they are occupied by the same party, they are not closed off from one another.

One bedroom plus one bath and a very large living room, dining room & kitchen. This is part of a 3,000 sq ft home which in its entirety includes the "Annex" and the "Annex Suite." There are spectacular views of the Blue Ridge off the patio and out of the bedroom, living room and kitchen. The bedroom has a queen bed. The sitting room is very comfortable and has a fireplace along with a large TV with Dish network and video player. It is ideal for one couple. There is a queen pull-out couch in the sitting room.

The Annex is part of a 3,000 sq. ft house next to the parking area. It is a private "wing" of our main residence. There are spectacular views of the Blue Ridge off the patio and out of the two rooms which have wall to wall patio doors. The bedroom is large, 15' x 16'. The sitting room is very comfortable and has a fireplace along with a TV and video player. there is only local reception for the TV. There is no kitchen. It is ideal for a couple or a couple with one child or an extra person.

Combined, The Annex & Annex Suite
- Two bedrooms, two baths.

This is the entire house with two bedrooms and two baths plus a small den with a fireplace and a really large living room dining room with a fireplace and a TV nook overlooking the Blue Ridge, an eat in kitchen with a commercial range and convection oven. There is a total of 2 regular queen beds, one queen sofa bed in the living room plus a fold-out couch in the den. You can sleep a total of seven people. The house is approximately 3,000 square feet and has a stunning view to the west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Lodge
- Two and a half bedrooms, two baths.

This house has two bedrooms; one large master bedroom and one two-room suite (two rooms, one having a queen bed, the other another queen) with a bath: 1 queen bed in the master suite, 1 queen and two single beds in the two-room suite. Click for Gallery photos of The Lodge.

If you book The Lodge, you get the entire house, not just one of the bedrooms. If you reserve The Lodge, you are reserving the entire house. If there will be one couple (2 people) staying there, the price is less than if there will be three or more people. I can't think of another way to say this, but we do not book each bedroom separately to two different parties in this house, we only book the entire house to one party.

The Lodge is a 1, 500 sq. ft house next to the swimming pool. There are two bedrooms and two baths in this house with a very large cathedral-ceiling living room with windows on three sides, couches, a fireplace in the living room, a complete kitchen (including dishwasher) and a dining area. It is well suited for two couples. Both bedrooms have a "Queen" sized bed. One of the "bedrooms" is actually a suite with two adjoining (via a French door) bedrooms and one bath. One of these bedrooms has a Queen bed, the other two single beds. The bath in the larger bedroom has a shower stall and a whirlpool tub. The suite or adjoining smaller rooms have a tub/shower in the bath. This house is beautifully furnished with very nice family antiques, paintings and furniture.

The Cottage
- One bedroom, one bath.

The Cottage is a separate house off the pool next to the Lodge, but separate from it. It is quite private, very quiet and is a comfortable size for a couple (800 sq. ft.) It has a large living room with a fireplace at one end and a complete kitchen at the other and the furniture includes a fold-out queen sofa. Down the hall is a bath, and at the end, a delicious bedroom and a large closet. The bed is queen size. The bath has a tub/shower. There is a VCR and CD/tape/radio here as well. It is filled with books and antiques including a mahogany corner cupboard and an ancestral portrait above the fireplace of Anna Phillips. This house is ideal if you want complete privacy.

Combined, The Lodge & The Cottage
- Three and a half bedrooms, three baths.

This gives you a total of 3 regular queen beds, plus one fold-out queen couch; and two single beds (plus a regular couch in the living room). If you put two people in each queen bed/couch and one in each single bed, you can sleep a total of ten people.

If you pick one or the other of these houses you won't share space with other guests who may have reserved the other of the two houses. These are separate houses and to get from one to the other, you have to go outside and walk about twenty yards. Both houses are adjacent to the swimming pool, in the woods, at the top of our mountain.

Facilities & Service

All the houses have central heat and A/C, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. The kitchen in each house is fully equipped with a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, pots and pans, plates, cups and flatware. There is a gas grill by the pool. The pool is there all year long, that is, it is not covered in the winter. It is not heated, however. The rooms will be clean, beds made with ironed sheets, lots of towels and washcloths and such ready for you. There is no daily maid service, however, so you need to clean up after yourself.
